January 2020, it's freezing cold in a big storage warehouse, and GCA's youngest engineer Teodors is filming the Promo video for his amazing invention - the LIGHT Pedal.
When Teodors joined GCA in 2018, he was just starting his second year in Electronics Engineering at the Riga Technical University (located strategically just a few hundred meters from the Gamechanger Audio office).
He was given one simple objective - come in whenever you can and do whatever you like - just make sure you’re building something new and original.
Through his passion for knowledge, dedication and hard work, Teo soon becomes a valuable and reliable part of the GCA engineering team and gets involved with many of GCA’s projects. Teo’s raw musical talent and boundless enthusiasm is a constant source of inspiration to the whole crew.
In the Summer of 2019 - Teo’s curious mind embarks on an exciting series of experiments that would ultimately lead him to discover the revolutionary Optical Spring Reverb System - a concept that would grab the attention of musicians all over the world.
Supported by the GCA team, Teo works day and night to produce a working prototype of the LIGHT Pedal just in time for the 2020 NAMM show.
The show proves to be a big success, and the LIGHT Pedal receives Music Radar's Best Of NAMM award.
The LIGHT Pedal pre-order round is launched on Reverb.com on February 10th. With over a thousand pre-orders in place, Teo spends the rest of the year re-engineering the circuitry, polishing the code and preparing the product for mass manufacturing.
This short documentary outlines Teodors’ journey, and shows you just how much passion had gone into this beautiful project.
As COVID continues terrorizing the world, and destroying hope for musicians, the LIGHT Pedal finally enters the manufacturing stage.
The first large batches of LIGHT Pedals start shipping in February/March 2021, and Teo’s Optical Spring Reverb System receives glowing reviews.
