Description
The original PLUS Pedal earned its reputation as a modern classic by letting musicians create rich, organic, and beautifully layered soundscapes that feel truly alive… THE NEW PLUS PEDAL II takes that magic further — offering a more intuitive, more expressive, and much more powerful experience than ever before!
The PLUS Pedal II by Gamechanger Audio allows you to add piano-style sustain and sostenuto to any instrument — preserving guitar, vocals, wind, acoustic instruments, brass, strings, and experimental sound sources in stunning realism.
Its new Spectral Sampling™ engine captures the true timbre, dynamics, harmonics, and character of any input, preserving the expressive nuances of your performance. Choose from 1 to 10 layers, or go infinite. Connect any instrument or vocal via the combo XLR/TS input with built-in mic preamp.
The PLUS Pedal II includes a smart SEND/RETURN FX Loop with a three-position routing switch, letting you instantly move external effects to three positions: pre, inside, and post the effects engine without touching a cable. With a new gradual optical control system, the iconic brass pedal responds smoothly across its full range, closer than ever to the feel of a real piano damper. Auto Layer Catch lets you simply press and play whilst the pedal’s engine detects and stacks new notes as you perform, without any manual catching. And there’s much more…

DESIGNED FOR ALL INSTRUMENTS:
The original PLUS Pedal introduced the world to Real-time Audio Sampling™ — a new way to add piano-style sustain to any instrument. Players didn’t just use it for guitar. They used it for harp, vocals, acoustic piano, brass, strings, and sounds no one had thought to sustain before.
The PLUS Pedal II starts from that same idea and rebuilds everything around it.
A New Kind of Sound Engine
Built around a completely new Spectral Sampling engine, PLUS Pedal II doesn’t just hold notes. Unlike other sustain/freeze pedal alternatives, it analyzes them at the spectral level, preserving the subtle harmonic and dynamic characteristics of every sound you play. Working alongside the original Real-time Audio Sampling™ technology, the result is an experience that feels both natural and instantly responsive, preserving the expressive nuances of your performance across any musical instrument or vocal, while seamlessly extending them into evolving sonic textures.
What’s New
Spectral Sampling™ Engine
A brand-new algorithm captures the true timbre, dynamics, harmonics, and character of any input with stunning realism — preserving the expressive nuances of your performance and extending them into evolving sonic textures.
Auto Layer Catch
Keep your foot on the pedal and just play. PLUS Pedal II detects new note events, filters out noise, handles transitions, and stacks sounds with remarkable musical accuracy.
The result feels natural. Almost like playing a piano with a sustain pedal that simply works without any thought or without any technique.
Gradual Optical Control
A new optical sensing system reads the brass pedal’s position across the whole movement range – allowing you to use your foot to control the volume and release curves of all sustain layers! You can use it to emulate the gentle behavior of a real piano pedal, or create all sorts of expressive volume swells by exploring the pedal’s full mechanical range.
Layer Control
A dedicated LAYERS knob lets you choose exactly how many active layers the pedal maintains:
- 1 layer — maximum clarity, clean sustain under a single note or chord
- 2–10 layers — building rich harmonic structures, chord beds, and complex textures
- Infinite Mode — PLUS Pedal II continuously combines older layers for endless evolving soundscapes that never have to stop
Each active layer is represented on the circular LED halo display, giving you real-time visual feedback as your sound builds around you..
Combo XLR/TS Input + Built-in Mic Preamp
PLUS Pedal II opens its doors wider than any sustain pedal before it. A combo XLR/TS input with a built-in studio-grade microphone preamp and adjustable gain control makes it easy to connect microphones directly.
Connect guitars, vocals, microphones, and acoustic instruments directly. A standard ¼” jack input bypasses the preamp completely and behaves like a traditional instrument input. A Kill Dry switch lets you use PLUS Pedal II for sustain layering only, while your instrument sounds naturally in the room.
Dual Resonator + Dynamic Tone
The built-in dual resonator engines continuously respond to the spectral content of each active layer, generating ever-shifting upper and lower resonances. Every new note changes the harmonic ecosystem, creating movement and organic complexity that feels alive — not like a static effect.
The TONE control applies a gradually evolving filter envelope to each layer individually, so sustained sounds breathe more like a real acoustic instrument rather than a static Tilt EQ.
Advanced Catch, Hold, Rise & Decay Controls
Deep control over how layers enter, sustain, and fade away.
The CATCH switch determines how new notes enter the sustained layer pool:
- ALL — every new note becomes a layer
- GROUP — only the selected number of layers is caught; play chords, then solo over them without lifting your foot
- SINGLE — add notes one at a time with surgical precision
The HOLD switch controls what happens after layers are captured:
- ALL — all layers remain sustained while the pedal is held
- FIRST — the first note stays held while new layers naturally decay
- NONE — all layers begin decaying immediately after capture
Dedicated RISE and DECAY knobs shape how each layer fades in and out over time.
Smart FX Loop
The original PLUS Pedal featured an FX loop that processed only the sustained layers. Players quickly discovered how transformative this was.
PLUS Pedal II takes that further with a first-of-its-kind three-position routing switch moves your external effects to three fundamentally different positions without touching a cable:
- PRE – Before the PLUS Pedal II engines
- FX LOOP – Affecting the sustained layers only
- POST – Add effects to the pedal’s output mix (the Dry Out output is not affected)
A delay before PLUS creates rhythmic layered textures. A delay inside PLUS processes only the sustained layers. A delay after PLUS adds space to everything. Choruses, flangers, reverbs, pitch-shifters, and distortion units all work beautifully in the loop. Experiment freely.
Three switches, three entirely different sounds.
Optional External Footswitch The redesigned footswitch expands PLUS Pedal II’s workflows and expands live and studio workflows with three operating modes and a dedicated Dry Out:
- WET — removes dry signal from the main output for pure sustained layers
- LATCH — keeps the pedal continuously active without holding the brass pedal
- HIDE — temporarily removes the dry signal while the brass pedal is engaged
