SEQUENCER

The MOTOR Synth offers a built-in Sequencer Engine that allows you to Create, Save and Manage
up to 8 PATTERNS per Project (See PRESETS & PROJECTS).

These Patterns can then be Chained and Sequenced from the PATTERN QUE SCREEN (similar to “Song Mode” on other devices).

PATTERN EDIT SCREEN:

To open the SEQUENCER PATTERN SCREEN press the dedicated SEQUENCER BUTTON on the MOTOR Synth’s front panel:

This is the SEQUENCER PATTERN SCREEN:

Use the RIGHT SCREEN ENCODER to toggle the SEQ ON / OFF State, Pattern Screen Follow (see Pattern Que), or Pattern Transpose (from -12 to +12 semitones).

SELECT A STEP by pressing KEYS on the KEYPAD - here the 8 KEYPAD KEYS correspond to
the 8 STEPS of the sequence on PAGE 1 - use the PRESET ENCODER to navigate between PAGE 1 and PAGE 2.

Pressing multiple KEYS will select Multiple steps.

SELECTED STEPS will be indicated with a dotted line on the SCREEN:

HOLD ALT + USE KEYPAD and PRESETS Encoder to ADD steps to the current selection.

Hold ALT & PRESS PITCH ENCODER 2 to quickly MUTE and UNMUTE SELECTED STEPS.

To deselect all steps and CLEAR the SELECTION tap any KEY on the KEYPAD twice.

The PATTERN EDIT SCREEN lets you adjust the following parameters per STEP:

VELOCITY
GATE,
GLIDE,
MICROTIMING,
RATCHETING,
PROBABILITY
STEP REPEAT

These adjustments are made by first selecting the STEPS wanted,

then using the MOTOR Synth’s FOUR PITCH ENCODERS while following SCREEN.

Let’s start by Selecting the FIRST and the FOURTH Step in the Sequence by PRESSING KEYS 1 & 4.

Now we can adjust muliple parameters for these steps:

NOTE VALUE (PITCH ENCODER 1):

VELOCITY (PRESS then TURN PITCH ENCODER 1):

GLIDE (PRESS then TURN PITCH ENCODER 2):

RATCHETING (PRESS then TURN PITCH ENCODER 3):

PROBABILITY (PITCH ENCODER 4):

etc.

You can also SELECT STEPS and EDIT ALL PARAMETERS while the STEPS are muted-

in the example below NOTE Values for STEPS 13 - 16 have been edited while MUTED:

PATTERN CHAINING:

PRESS the SEQUENCER Button a second time to exit the PATTERN EDIT SCREEN and enter the PATTERN QUE SCREEN:

The PATTERN QUE Screen can be used to Quickly and easily sequence patterns by HOLDING REC & pressing the KEYPAD:

The PATTERN QUE SCREEN offers you four QUE slots - A, B, C, D - and each of them
can be used to store a sequence of up to 12 patterns (1-8).

Navigate and view different QUE slots A, B, C, D by pushing the four rotary PITCH ENCODERS.

To trigger a new QUE HOLD REC & press PITCH ENCODERS 1-4.

You can CHAIN QUES by HOLDING REC & ENTERING multiple QUES using the PITCH ENCODERS:

SEQUENCER RECORD:

PRESS the SEQUENCER Button and the RECORD Transport KEY together to open the SEQ REC SCREEN:

Now you can enter NOTES In real-time by holding REC and playing the KEYPAD.

All NOTES recorded in the SEQ REC Screen can later be edited from the PATTERN Edit SCREEN.
